dc.description.abstract | Dynamic behaviors of a planetary gear are analyzed by a theoretical approach. A discrete dynamic model for a planetary gear system is established by considering the planets phasing, mesh stiffness and bearing properties. The dynamic model consists of the sun gear, the carrier, the ring gear and the planets gears. Each component processes three degree of freedoms. Using Lagrange’s equation, we derive the nonlinear equations of motion with respect to the Cartesian coordinate system. The dynamic behaviors of the planetary gear system are investigated with the time responses computed from the equations of motion. In addition, the motions of the components are also studied when they are in a steady state. | - |
