dc.description.abstractThe design of flapping wing air vehicle (FWAV) is classified into biomimetic design and biomorphic design. First, the bird-like FWAV is manufactured as a biomimetic design. In order to improve the performance, unconventional FWAV is developed as a biomorphic design. The unconventional FWAV has two pairs of X-type wings. The performances of FWAVs are analyzed by measurement of the thrust and lift forces. The results indicate that the unconventional FWAV has superior performance to the bird-like FWAV.-
