dc.description.abstract | Chemical sensors are devices that transform chemical information into an analytical useful signal. A development of miniaturized chemical sensor array chip becomes an active research subject due to the new needs in the field of ubiquitous sensor networks. Recently, there has been a great advancement through the synthesis of novel nanomaterials and the fulfillment of microfabricated devices. In this presentation, I will introduce chemical sensor-arrayed analytical systems which are commonly known as artificial (or electronic) nose systems. It includes sensing characteristics of carbon black-polymer composites used as sensor elements, microfabrication techniques useful in achieving miniaturized sensor array chip, system integration methods, and basic analytical applications for classifying real samples such as liquors and natural perfumes. | - |
