dc.description.abstractRecently, there has been an interest in premixed diesel engines as it has the potential of achieving a more homogeneous and leaner mixture formation compared to conventional diesel engines. Early studies revealed that in a HCCI(Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition) engine, fuel injection methods and intake flow characteristics affect the mixture formation and combustion. Thus the purpose of this study was to investigate characteristics of injection rate, spray formation and intake flow according to various ambient and intake conditions. From the results, we could calculate coefficient of correlation between the real injection duration and injection signal accordance with various injection conditions and measure flow coefficient and swirl number of the engine head for HCCI.-
