dc.description.abstract | Neopterin and biopterin are formed by the respective addition of 1,2,3-trihydroxypropyl group and 1,2-dihydroxy group of the pterin. Therefore, the conversion of the terminal hydroxymethyl group to the methyl group in neopterin is strongly to improve the synthetic process of biopterin. The selective protection to the 1,2-hydroxyl groups, the secondary alcohols, of neopterin will be discussed. | - |
