dc.description.abstractA compound which has antibiotic activity was isolated from centipede Scolopendra subspinipes multilans L. Koch. The structure of this compound was identified as 8-hydroxyisochromen-1-one and called "Centipedin" as the trivial name. Various 2,3-disubstituted phenol derivatives were prepared as the precursors for Centipedin.-
