Chiral catalysts have received much attention due to the importance of pure enantiomers in the production for fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Much research has been mainly performed with homogeneous catalysts since they can produce chiral compounds with good reactivity and selectivity. But Homogeneous catalysts need to be immobilized on appropriate support before use due to the problems of its recovery and reuse. In this work, the Ru-BINAP catalysts immobilized on PTA-modified support was prepared and evaluated on the catalytic performance in asymmetric hydrogenation of dimethyl itaconate. The effect on reaction rate and enantioselectivity by reaction conditions (temperature, pressure, solvent, substrate concentration) was also investigated. The characterization of the catalysts was performed using 31P MAS-NMR, FT-IR and ICP, and the activity and ee value of the reaction mixture was analyzed by G.C. The results showed that the reaction conditions, especially oxygen level in solvent, influences on the activity and selectivity.-
