서울고속버스터미널 내 대중교통 환승정보 유도사인에 관한 연구

Abstract

최근 우리나라 도시의 성장 및 이에 따른 광역화 현상이 이루어지면서 대도시들의 도시교통문제는 심각한 수준에 이르고 있다. 삶의 질이 향상됨으로 인해 이동성(Mobility) 이 매우 활발해지고 있으며, 보다 우수한 접근성(Accessibility) 및 편리성(Convenience)을 추구함으로 인해 자가용 승용차수의 증가에 따른 통행 횟수의 증가 및 버스 및 철도 등을 이용한 타 도시로의 이동도 급속히 증가하고 있다. 또한 이용자들의 적시공급시스템(Just In Time)1)에 대한 요구 증대로 물류의 이동도 급속히 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 이와 같은 교통의 흐름이 활발히 이루어지고 있는 도시현상에 있어서 정부가 대중교통 이용편의 증진 및 활성화를 위해 그간 역점을 두어 추진해온 고속버스 환승제도가 이용객들의 큰 호응 속에 성공적으로 정착되고 있다. 국토해양부(장관:정종환)는 고속버스 환승제도를 전면 확대(`10.3.2) 실시한지 1개월 만에 일평균 이용객(3월 4주 417명, 최대 510명)이 시범운영 기간(`09.11.2～`10.2.25) 152명에 비해 2.7배 증가하였으며, 이러한 증가추세는 앞으로 계속될 것으로 보인다고 밝혔다.2) 이런 복합적인 공간으로 변화된 고속버스터미널 이용자의 수가 늘어가고 있음에도, 이용자를 상대로 한 정보전달 및 환승시스템은 아직까지 미흡한 상태이다. 다른 대중교통수단보다 경쟁력 저하의 가장 근본적인 원인이 되고 있는 것은 환승체계가 이용자에게 편리하지 않게 구축되어 있고, 다른 대중교통과 교통연계 및 환승문제가 해소되지 않는 것은 근본적으로 ‘공급자 중심’의 환승체계가 구축되어 왔기 때문으로 분석 되어진다. 본 논문에서는 시각적으로 공간을 이해하고정보를 수용하는 관점에서 인간의 공간 인지에 기초 하여 고속버스터미널의 문제점을 분석하였다. 구체적인 범위는 서울고속버스터미널의 공간정보디자인 중 대중교통의 환승을 유도하는 사인을 분석하여, 이에 따른 문제점을 개선하기 위해 노면유도 사인을 활용한 방안을 제시하려고 한다. 이번 연구에서 공간의 구성 및 이용 절차가 복잡하게 얽혀있는 서울고속버스터미널을 중심으로 공간 및 환승정보를 통합하는 정보시스템을 위한 공간정보디자인을 위해 인지심리학 가운데 환경 및 공간, 교통연계 및 환승시스템 등 본 연구와 관련된 주요 원리와 이론과 길 찾기 중심의 정보디자인의 개념과 주요 이론을 살펴보고, 기존의 터미널이 지닌 정보디자인에 대한 문제점을 연구 대상지를 사례로 분석하여, 프랑스 파리 지하철 14호선의 바닥 유도사인과 종합병원에서의 환자 중심 길 찾기 유도사인 중 서울대학교병원의 사례를 통해 터미널 내 이용자를 목적지로 안내하는 유도사인의 보완 방안에 대해 검토한다.

In South Korea, metropolitan transport now faces serious problems because of the growth of cites and consequential conurbation. With improvement in quality of life, the mobility has also increased. As people seek better accessibility and convenience in transportation system, the number of vehicles, traffic, and movement to other cities via bus and railways is also sharply increasing. In addition, due to the increased demand for just in time supply system, movement of goods is also drastically increasing. While the traffic flow is increasing as described, express bus transfer system which has been pushed for by the government to promote the convenience and revitalization of mass transportation system is also settling down. The Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime affairs (minister: Jung Jong Hwan) announced that the average number of passengers per day has increased by a factor of 2.7 (4 weeks of March, 417 passengers; highest average number of passengers, 510) from 152 of test-operating period (2NOV2009 – 25FEB2010) after a month of full implementation of express bus transfer system (2MAR2010). Although the number of passengers using express bus terminals is increasing, the information communication and transfer systems are insufficient to meet passengers’ needs. The root cause of weak competitiveness of express bus compared with other mode of transportation is that transfer system of express bus is inconvenient for passengers. Besides, it is believed that the problem of connection to other mode of transportation and transfer system has not been solved yet because the transfer system were developed focusing on ransportation service providers. However, in this study, the problem of express bus terminal was analyzed based on the recognition of space, from the point of view that the space should be visually understood and information should be visually received. I intend to present measures that utilize guiding sign of ground surface to solve the problems by analyzing the signs that guide passengers who need to transfer, among the many spatial information design of Seoul express bus terminal. In this study, use of space configurations and intricate process focused on the Seoul Express Bus Terminal and transfer the information space, information systems that integrate information for the space of cognitive psychology for the design and spatial environment, transport links and transit systems, etc. this study, the major principles and theories associated with the center of the street to find the information design concepts and explores the main theories, with the existing information about the design of the terminal study whether the problem by analyzing the case, the floor of Paris Metro Line 14 patient-oriented directional signs and route finding in a general hospital, Seoul National University Hospital of directional signs through the terminal in the case of users of directional signs to guide you to your destination will examine the complementary measures.
