- Abstract
- This study purports to present the data necessary for those involved in gymnastics who intend to improve game performance, by analyzing the structural relationship between the self-esteem, the organizational commitment and the type of leadership that the gymnast of high schools and universities recognize. For this purpose, this study was conducted to 211 players of the gymnastic teams of high schools and universities who participated in the gymnastic matches held in cities and provinces for the championship of the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. For the analysis of data, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation, and structural equation model were used. The statistical significance level was set at α<.05. The research results are as per the below. First, the transformational leadership of gymnastic coaches had significant influence on self-esteem. Secondly, the transactional leadership of gymnastic coaches had non-significant influence on self-esteem. Third, the transformational leadership of gymnastic coaches had significant influence on the organizational commitment. Fourth, the transactional leadership of gymnastic coaches had non-significant influence on the organizational commitment. Fifth, self-esteem had significant influence on the organizational commitment. Sixth, self-esteem mediated between the transformational leadership and the organizational commitment. Seventh, self-esteem didn`t mediate between the transactional leadership and the organizational commitment.
