의약품첨부문서의 올바른 사용을 위한 시각정보디자인 제안 -아토피피부염에 사용되는 스테로이드연고를 중심으로-

Abstract

정보화 시대의 도래와 함께 정보디자인은 전 분야에 걸쳐서 발달되어 왔고 과학 및 의학 분야에서도 그 중요성이 커지고 있다. 의학 정보는 인간의 건강한 신체를 유지하기 위해 사용되는 올바른 예방과 치료를 위한 정보이다. 생명과 밀접한 관련이 있으며 잘못된 정보로 인하여 사람의 건강에 치명적인 결과를 가져올 수 있으므로 빠르면서도 정확한 정보가 요구된다. 특히 아토피와 같이 꾸준한 치료가 요구되는 만성질환의 경우 정확한 정보가 필수적이다. 아토피 치료의 가장 중요하고 직접적인 치료방법은 스테로이드 연고를 사용하는 것이다. 그러나 정확한 정보의 부재로 오·남용이 우려된다. 따라서 본 연구는 의약품정보원 중의 하나인 첨부문서의 특징을 고찰하고 스테로이드 연고의 올바른 사용을 위한 의약품 첨부문서의 효율적인 정보디자인 체계와 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 연구의 범위는 첨부문서(인쇄물)에 한정되며 연구 방법은 문헌 및 웹사이트를 통해 조사한 해외사례와의 비교를 중심으로 하였다. 본 연구의 내용과 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이용자의 편의를 고려한 시각 요소를 개발을 통해 원활한 커뮤니케이션을 유도한다. 둘째, 현재 의약품 첨부문서는 어려운 한자어 및 전문용어의 사용이 혼용되어 사용자들에게 혼란을 주고 있으므로 한글세대에 적합한 언어를 사용하고 저학력자도 충분히 이해할 수 있는 쉬운 용어를 선정하여 정확하고 간결한 문장을 구사한다. 셋째, 중요도 있는 항목의 주목성을 증대하여 이용자의 효율적인 이용을 돕도록 한다. 본 연구를 통해 모아진 스테로이드 연고의 사용 정보가 시각적으로 정돈되고 재배치되어 제공된다면 디자이너의 차원에서 시의성 있는 사회문제 해결로 정보디자이너의 미래가치 역량을 위한 발판을 마련할 수 있고, 국가적 차원에서 의학 및 의약품 정보디자인의 질적 향상 및 파급효과를 기대할 수 있다. 무엇보다 정보를 이용하는 사람들은 쉽게 정보를 이해하고 인지할 수 있어 올바르게 정보를 사용할 수 있어 만족도가 향상되는 등 여러 기대효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

With the advent of the information age, information design has been developed throughout all fields, and its importance is growing in the fields of science and medicine also. Medical information is defined as the information necessary for the maintenance of healthy body through correct prevention and treatment. Medical information, which is closely related to life and errors in which can bring about critical results to the health of people, demands speed and accuracy. Especially for chronic diseases requiring steady prevention and treatment, such as atopic dermatitis, correct medical information is essential. Of the treatment methods of atopic dermatitis, the most primary and direct treatment is the use of steroids. but they are misused and abused because of the lack of the information for correct use, thereby causing adverse effects. The range of study is limited with package insert and the way of study was usually comparison with foriegn cases researched from documents and websites. Therefore, the present research was conducted in pursuit of providing information for the correct use of steroids. A package insert for steroid ointment was developed meeting following methods based on the results from literature review; First, visual components were developed to improve user's convenience; direction of texts, distance between lines, distance between letters, symbol, illustration, layout were adjusted with the purpose of inducing better communication. Second, The chinese words and difficult technical terms were not used to prevent confusion of users, and correct and simple sentence with easy words enough to be understood by low-educated people were used in order to meet Korean letter generation. Third, the visual effect of important informations were intensified. The amount of raw medicine, phase, storage method, and package unit, among necessarily required information in package insert, are far from the needs of users. The important information for users such as efficacy, effect, application method, dosage have been indicated relatively in small area compared to their importance while the suggestions for application has been occupying too large area. In order to improve those problems, the area assigned according to importance and the visual effect of important informations were intensified. It is expected, if informations about steroid ointment application, that the potential value of information designer may be enhanced by solving social problems, and that the role of information designer in the field of social science will be extended. It is, most of all, expected that medical service satisfaction will increase because users can acquire and understand information easily,
