Abstract
As the issues on the environment is considered as serious problems over the globe, there have been developed environmental assessment tools in few countries. SBTool is one of the environmental assessment tool which is quantitatively well organized. On the other hand, the number of high rise buildings are increasing recently in Korea, so it is wondered whether high rise buildings can be applied to the present standards of environmental rating systems. For those requirements, SUSB-SAM ver. 1.0 was just developed to evaluate high rise buildings more accurate. This study is for improving the standards of existing environmental assessment tools. There had been evaluations of SBTool and SUSB-SAM ver. 1.0. SUSB-SAM got 18.1% higher score than that of SBTool. The result shows that there are certain issues to be added to existing issues and the weights should be adjusted in case of the evaluation on high rise buildings.
