- Abstract
- The non-thermal and magnetic field effects on the surface dust-acoustic mode are investigated in semi-bounded magnetized Lorentzian dusty plasma. The dispersion relations for the surface dust-acoustic wave are obtained for both the parallel and perpendicular orientations of the magnetic field using the specular reflection boundary condition with the plasma dielectric function. The result shows that the non-thermal effects on the propagation of the surface dust-acoustic waves parallel to the magnetic field are found to be more significant than those perpendicular to the magnetic field. It is also found that the group velocity of the surface dust-acoustic wave increases with an increase of the strength of the magnetic field. In addition, it is shown that the group velocity increases with an increasing of the spectral index, i.e. decreasing of the non-thermal character of the distribution function.
