- Abstract
- Connection of steel structures form complicatedly in many cases, they are important part to transmit various stresses. It is indispensable in design of steel structures to evaluate strength of connection. To evaluate strength of connection, the theory of Plastic Analysis of continuum under in-plane or out-of-plane load can apply to this evaluation. In Plastic Analysis of continuum, internal forces are found by virtual work formulate apply to assumed collapse mechanism. External work calculated by corresponding assumed collapse mechanism and (internal work calculated by integrate), Stresses acting continuum expressed by perpendicularity stresses and shear stresses, and yield criterion of Mises apply to combination stresses of these. Connection of steel structures is consist of steel members which is consist of plate elements using welding or bolt connection, and plate elements which consist steel members can be treated to 2-dimensional plate elements. So in this study plate elements are treated to 2-dimensional exercise like plate-stress or plate-deflection. Authors valued maximum internal force by plate with holes collapse mechanism based on plastic theory. By expanding this, the study tried to evaluate internal force of steel structure connection and tried to evaluate maximum internal force of pre-installed rib and welded part. Provided formula is estimated to be a foundation for decision of dimensions at designing connections.
