- Abstract
- This study aims to consider the modem designer's role and design process in the digital paradigm through literature research on the change of the digital paradigm due to networking and analysis of case studies concerning actual affairs in the design business. In the past, a new age of the industrial revolution brought about the emergence of a new design concept. Likewise after the industrial revolution, a new age of the Chinese revolution is anticipating to emerge. Even just 20 or 30 years ago, the centre of design was in Europe and America. Therefore, it's not an overstatement to say that the majority of the designs were produced by westerners, with a western-centered mind. However, since a few years ago, the world's attention, like all historical flow, is turning from west to east. Especially, China is in the middle of this change, and Korea has historical, continental, and mental similarities with China, and thus has its own benefits in the global design competition. Therefore, basic design processes and education such as target analysis, goal setting, concept setting is needed. Also, Designers must solidify their roles as aesthetic planners in accordance with the change of Cell production methods. Designers that can give direction and ideas, and those who have learned the process before design producing will lead the new age. Furthermore, designers will need to acquire text, in other words the design discourse which enables them to elaborate their thoughts through text.
