dc.description.abstractA stabilization period of municipal solid waste can be shortened by introducing moisture such as a leachate from a landfill and a groundwater contaminated by nitrate-nitrogen. Landfill bioreactor system with recirculation of leachate could be operated as a municipal solid waste treatment instead of a conventional dumping system. In this study leachate quality(ammonia nitrogen, nitrate, dissolved organic carbon) was analyzed to find optimum leachate treatment conditions and lab scale reactor combined lysimeter with SBR was used to find optimum leachate recirculation conditions. The degradation rate of organic matter at leachate recirculation condition was 1.4 times higher than the conventional system. Two different leachate(nitrified from SBR) recirculation systems were evaluated in lysimeter using nitrified leachate which contained nitrate-nitrogen and nitrite-nitrogen. The leachate containing nitrate-nitrogen was more effective for the organic matter degradation than the leachate with nitrite-nitrogen.-
