dc.description.abstractSeveral methods to regenerate PM(particulate material) from DPF are developed to meet stringent emission regulations during recent years. A favorable technology is NO₂-assisted regeneration method due to the capability of continuous oxidation of PM under much lower temperature than that of thermal regeneration. As a preliminary work for a prediction of NO₂ assisted regeneration performance, a number of calculations were conducted with wide range of operation conditions and different regeneration methods for light and heavy-duty vehicle to validate the accuracy of the numerical results compared with the experimental data in literature. The results were quite satisfactory and illustrated the applicability as a valuable design tool for NO₂-assisted regeneration and aftertreatment system optimization.-
