dc.description.abstract | 아이콘(icon)을 통하지 않고 디지털시대의 세계에 적응한다든지, 아이콘이 단지 의사소통과 사고에 미치는 구체적 문제를 해결해주는 부수적 수단이라고만 생각한다면 큰 착각이다. 사실상 "디지털 시대"의 세계란 상당부분이 집단적 언어의 습관위에서 무의식적으로 쌓아올려지는 것이다. 언어와 기호의 동일한 사회적 현실을 나타낸다고 볼 수 있을 만큼 비슷하지 않다. 그러나 언어가 사라지듯 아이콘들도 생성과 소멸의 과정을 반복하고 있다. 아직도 현재 '진행중'인 것이다. 언어와 아이콘은 다른것이 아니며 서로 다른 사회들이 살아가는 세상 즉 같은 세상에 이름만 다르게 붙인 것이다. '그 많은 아이콘들은 어디로 갔을까?' 즉 세계의 아이콘들이 무서운 속도로 사라지고 재생산된다는 것이다. 본 논문은 이러한 이유로 어떻게 언어의 기호학적 아이콘들이 사라져 가고 있는지 그 유형만을 분석하는데 의의가 있다고 하겠으며 디지털 시대의 아이콘들이 직면한 언어의 기호학적 위협을 알리는 것이다. 지난 수세기동안 실개울처럼 진행되어 온 사멸현상이 이제는 홍수가 되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 아이콘들의 사멸은 바로 지금 우리 눈앞에서 세계의 전 지역에서 일어나고 있다 | - |
