It is shown that the transverse dust lattice waves become unstable due to the dressing effects in strongly coupled dusty plasmas. It is also found that the growth rate of the instability increases for root 3 + 1 < a/lambda(D) < 2 root 2 + 2 and decreases for a/lambda(D) > 2 root 2 + 2, where a is the spacing of dust grains and lambda(D) is the Debye length.
