Abstract
A new finite difference scheme employing simplified Boussinesq-type wave equation on uniform grids is developed to simulate the propagation of tsunamis with accurate dispersion effects as given by Boussinesq equations. The scheme uses the dispersion- correction terms to compensate the difference between the numerical dispersion caused by numerical model and the physical one given by Boussinesq equations.
