dc.description.abstractThe vibration of a curved pipe with clamped ends is studied. In this paper, considering the geometric nonlinearity of the curved pipe and the internal fluid flowing, the non-linear partial differential equations of the motion are derived by using the extended Hamilton principle. Based on the Galerkin method, the discretized equations of motion are derived. The natural frequencies varying with the flow velocity are computed and compared with the previous studies. Furthermore, the effects of the non-linearity on the vibration characteristics of the pipe are presented.-
