dc.description.abstractWireless mobile internet access is becoming an important segment for the wireless industry. In this paper the new system, WiBro, being standardized in Korea is introduced. We address some of the physical layer aspects and the corresponding impacts on system performance. To provide the solution for optimized network operation, we evaluate the capacity of WiBro in various network conditions with the developed system level simulator. Simulation results provide insight on how performance varies within the coverage area according to the values of system parameters. Also, we derive the adequate values to maximize capacity considering channel resource overhead. © 2005 IEEE.-
