dc.description.abstract | This paper proposes a novel winding scheme to generate a sub-harmonic magneto-motive force (MMF) component for brushless operation of a wound field synchronous machine (WFSM). The existing sub-harmonic generation schemes for brushless operation used dual inverter, or single inverter with asymmetrical winding and low slot fill factor in half of the stator. The proposed scheme comprises of single inverter with symmetrical stator winding distribution and same fill factor for all stator slots. | - |
