dc.description.abstract | This paper proposes a novel consequent pole machine (CPM). Different from the conventional surface permanent magnet (SPM) machine and conventional consequent pole machine (CPM), the proposed machine had additional iron pole. This structure was suggested to increase the magnet pole angle while maintaining the magnet volume by partially substituting the magnet part with iron. Comparison of the proposed machine with the conventional SPM and CPM was done to show the superiority. The proposed machine had higher torque and lower torque ripple with same magnet volume compared to the conventional CPM. | - |
