Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analysis whatever Borg’s RPE(Rate of Perceived Exertion) always could apply regardless to subject’s characteristics in progressive exercise intensity load. That is, This study is to verify whether Borg’s RPE can apply regardless of age group (from 20s to 40s). The subjects for this experiment were each of 20s, 30s, and 40s group in each of 10 persons who involved in female and male group, respectably. Borg’s 7,9,11,13,15,17,19 out of 15 steps were arranged by adding 17, 19 levels which is upper level to the load that described mainly for the exercise prescription of the Korean adults. The results are as follows: 1. In male, there is no significant difference in the total group of 20s, 30s, 40s in each steps(p>.05). Also, in the test of post-hoc of the each age group is no significant difference (p>.05) except for the between 30s and 40s(p<05). 2. In female, there is significant difference in the total group of 20s,30s ,and 40s in 9, 11 step levels(p<.001). the group of the 20s is higher than 30s,40s in the step levels statistically. Also, in the test of the post-hoc of the each age group show significant different between 20s and 30s in 9 step level. And show significant different between 20s and 40 in the 9 step level(p<.001) and 11 step level (p<.05), 13 step level (p<.05), and 15, 19 step levels(p<.05). in the post-hoc test, 20s shows higher than 30sand 40s, statistically, (p<.001). In conclusion, the table of Borg’s RPE needs to adjust according to the age group 20s, 30s, 40s, male and female, respectably. that shows differently with the Borg’s table.
