골프 선수들의 종교적 신앙심과 심리적 영향에 관한 사례연구

Abstract

[목적] 본 연구는 골프선수들의 경기 시 종교적 믿음으로 경기를 이끌어나가는 사례에 관한 분석을 하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. [방법] 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 종교정향 검사를 통과한 남녀 한국프로골프 엘리트선수 8명을 대상으로 13개월간 심층면담을 통하여 다음과 같은 연구 결과를 얻었다. [결과] 첫째, 자신의 고유 각성수준을 유지하려고 종교적 행위로 그 수준을 조절하고 있었다. 둘째, 종교적 명상을 통해 주의집중력을 상승시켜주고 있었다. 셋째, 목표성취에 따른 신과의 거래를 통해서 경쟁불안에 대해 종교적 사고 조절을 하고 있었다. 넷째, 종교가 주는 긍정적 정서로 부정적 에너지를 낮추고 경기를 이끌어 가고 있었다. 다섯째, 종교적 동기부여로 인해서 목표를 설정하고, 운동 지속이라는 행동을 유발시켜주고 있다. 여섯째, 종교적 경험에서 최고수행능력을 발휘하는 몰입 상태로 만들어 준다. 결론은 종교가 주는 심리적 기술들을 통하여 목표설정, 적정 각성, 각성조절, 긍정적 정서, 사고 조절, 집중과 같은 심리 기술들을 경기 상황에서 형성해 주어 최상의 경기 수행을 발휘하는데 도움을 주고 있다.

[Purpose] This research was conducted to ascertain psychological effects of religion by providing a number of cases where religious piety played a crucial role in removing anxiety and led to a great performance. [Method] selected eight KPGA, KLPGA players based on ‘Korean Religion Inclination Test’ and collected d ata throu gh i n-depth interviews with those research participants. By inductively analyzing the data provided by the interviews. [Result] 1) Research participants tend to control their emotional restlessness and arousal level with their religious beliefs. 2) Research Participants are prone to lose concentration during the tough game but those who have sincere religious piety manage to concentrate on their plays through religious meditation. 3) During the golf game, players often encounter with competitive trait anxiety. 4) Religion has a positive effect to the research participants in that they manage to reduce any negative anxiety during the golf game. 5) Research participants who have sincere religious piety sometimes have a religious goal to win any competition. 6) When research participants are in a dangerous moment, religion can help them to say in the state of flow where they can perform their maximum capacity.
