Abstract

This paper proposes a traffic light detection algorithm based on the morphological characteristics of traffic light. In most studies, traffic light detection is based on color. The problem with color-based traffic light detection algorithm is that the traffic light cannot be detected if the color of the traffic light is changed by external factors. We propose a traffic light detection algorithm based on the morphological characteristics. The proposed method can be applied to the traffic light detection regardless of color changes.
