- Abstract
- Over the past decade, open source software has grown rapidly in the software industry with its lower licensing costs and high accessibility. The Java programing language with thread-safe libraries and object-oriented modeling is one of the dominant development language used to implement open source software. However, due to concurrency errors such as dead-lock and data-race, correctness and reliability of Java-based open source software is deteriorating. Moreover, existing verification tools require extensive amount of time and effort in modeling multi-threaded code for verification. Therefore, this paper proposes an effective methodology with automated tool support to extract model of multi-threaded code from Java program to verify correctness and reliability of java based open source software.
