- Abstract
- The vehicle to grid(V2G) can provide an advantage over traditional power plants in the response time. The V2G can deliver power almost immediately, whereas natural gas or coal plants may require seconds to minutes to ramp up to generate electricity. Therefore, the V2G has high potential as a demand-side management and distributed power resource. However, electric vehicle batteries differ from other electrical energy storages because they can participate in grid ancillary services intermittently due to the mobility of electric vehicles. In this work, a simplified available capacity calculation model for V2G is proposed. Then, the potential V2G capacity of passenger vehicles in Korea is simulated over time considering driving information of Korea. © 2015 International Information Institute.
