Abstract
This study has aimed to examine from within the flow of movies and society the body image of females in the modern-day society through the depiction of heroines in action films, thereby providing basic materials for females to protect themselves and grow as proactive individuals, and obtained the following results. The body image of heroines in action films firstly demonstrated their fighting spirit based on their strong endurance and mental strengths, and their ability to lead themselves or their group to overcome crises. Through such a body image, they transform themselves into proactive individuals that can protect and lead themselves, from passive persona that largely depended on other peoples’ influences. In conclusions, the fact that the modern-day women are enthusiastic about such heroines in action films while desiring a thin and sexy image of a woman shows that they have the potential to gain the strength and confidence to become a pioneer of their own path.
