Abstract
This study seeks to identify the effects the type of participation in Taekwondo events have on the developmentof social skills and leadership types. Through a series o sftudy procedures and methodologies, the fo-llowing were concluded. First, a comparative analysis between the social skills and leadership of competition athletes and demonstrationathletes of Taekwondo showed that there were significant idfferences in social skills, autonomy and activeness. In terms of leadership, innovative leadership showed significant difference between the two groups. Second, a verification of the effects on the development of social skills and leadership types in competitionathletes of Taekwondo showed that the sub-categories of social skills, which are control, activeness and levelof friendliness, had a positive effect on leadership type, while stability had a negative effect on leadership type. Third, a verification of the effect that the development of social skills in demonstration athletes of Taekwondoon leadership type showed that the sub-categories of sociasl kills, which are activeness, control, stabilityand friendliness had a positive effect on leadership types.
