- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to compare the oxidative stress measured performing the d-ROMs test which determined the reactive oxygen metabolites(ROMs), and the antioxidant defence status assessed determining the biological antioxidant potential(BAP test), and metabolic variables at two exercise intensities(70% and 100%V̇O2max) on an acute treadmil graded exercise test. The 12 healthy young men participated in the study which were recruited. Blood was collected 4 times(at rest, immediately after exercise, and recovery 30min, 60min). Statistical analysis were performed two-way ANOVA with repeated measures, independent t-test, and Turkey's test post-hoc analysis. It were no significant differences between two exercise intensities the blood levels of d-ROM & BAP and signficant differences at rest, immediayely after exercise, recovery time within the same exercise intensity. It were signficant higher blood levels of lactate and glucose in 100%V̇O2max than 70%V̇O2max and signficant higher triglyceride and total cholesterol in 100%V̇O2max. Increased blood levels of d-ROM & BAP in high exercise intensity on an acute treadmill graded exercise test was similar to the results of other studies, but the significant higher triglyceride and total cholesterol in 100%V̇O2max were different with general thoerys and other studies. Therefore, we need continuedly to study on the triglyceride and total cholesterol to control exercise intensity and exercise methods.
