- Abstract
- 대학은 지식공동체로 형성된 하나의 사회이며, 대학의 역할과 기능은 시대의 흐름에 따라 변화하였으며 특히, 현대사회에서 대학은 더 이상 교육이라는 특정한 기능을 주고받는 장소로서 보다는 지식 및 인간관계의 상호교류 장소로 의미가 변화하고 있다. 본 연구는 미국의 3개 대학의 캠퍼스 마스터플랜과 LRDP의 내용을 중심으로, 캠퍼스 개발계획 양상을 분석하고 장기적 관점에서 캠퍼스 개발에 따른 계획적 보완 및 상생 방향의 제시를 목적으로 하고 있다. 본 연구를 통해 분석된 대학캠퍼스 개발계획의 계획적 특성은 다음과 같다. 기존 캠퍼스 마스터플랜의 계획요소가 담고 있는 내용 중, 특히 광역적, 장기적 관점에서의 개발계획과 로드맵 구축이 사례로 제시된 3개 대학의 경우 구체적이고 단계적으로 제시되고 계획 및 실시에 반영되고 있다는 점이다. 이에 반해 국내 대학 캠퍼스는 독립적 형성을 바탕으로 지나치게 내부적 변화에 대한 계획에 편중되어 있다는 점을 감안하면, 향후 국내 대학 캠퍼스 마스터플랜의 계획에 있어 장기개발계획 차원의 계획요소 보완과 함께 지역과 도시와의 상생적 방안으로서 협의체의 구성과 함께 단계별 계획에 대한 구체적 비젼의 제시가 요구됨을 파악할 수 있다.
