- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of green tea beverage supplement on blood lipid component(TC, HDL-C and LDL-C) and lipid metabolism variable(VO2, RER and Fkcal) following three different groups(supplement before exercise[BE], during exercise[DE] and after exercise[AE]). 24 healthy male collegiate students participated as subjects after signing an informed consent. The submaximal exercise intensity of this study was the 60% VO2max of subjects. To comparative analysis on the effect of lipid metabolism post-exercise(60min) with sgreen tea beverage for 4-weeks it was compared the oxygen consumption(VO2), respiratory exchange ratio(RER), fat kilocalories(Fkcal), TC, HDL-C and LDL-C following every supplement times. First, there were not significant differences in fat metabolism included VO2. RER and Fkcal among supplement times. However, the VO2, RER and Fkcal on measurement time was significant in the within groups(p<.05).
Second, there were not significant differences in TC, HDL-C and LDL-C among supplement time and measurement time. However, the TC, LDL-C values was decreased in the AE and the HDL-C values was increased similarly in the all groups. Especially, AE and BE treatment has effective than DE for recovery periods.
