- Abstract
- LH generally determines the prizewinners by the qualitative assessment. However, combining the quantitative assessment and the qualitative assessment makes the evaluation more objective. In order to do so, an objective indicator is necessary. It is essential to find a set of appropriate indicators and relations among indicators for a proper assessment. This study started to select common indicators from the earlier studies. Eight of the indicators related to the density were selected that can be quantitatively evaluated, and then the prizewinners and the competitions were compared by the selected evaluation index. The object of this study is to examine the capability of the selected indicators as the quantitative indicators for evaluating the design competition drafts, and find out the applicability. When these quantitative indicators are schematized and perform as definite design guidelines, the design competition will be assessed more objectively.
