- Abstract
- Han Sulya’s Daedonggang is a novel in the three parts such as Part 1 Daedonggang, Part 2 Liberation Tower and Part 3 Ryongaksan. The evaluation for Part 1 in the early stage of the 1950s concentrated on what were about the characteristics of the workers including ‘Jumsoon’.
The argument after the completion of the three parts in the middle of the 1950s was kept adding and emphasizing ‘the role of the party’. In particular, he stressed the role of the party through the character called ‘Dukjoon’, and indicated it repeatedly in many plain texts. Further, he also evaluated it emphasizing the roles of ‘the party and the chieftain’.
It developed into unique idea system while the relation of ‘the party and the chieftain’ was reversed into that of ‘the chieftain and the party’. The novel disappeared for a while after the system was formed. It was not rediscovered as the novel of formalizing ‘the anti-American patriotic fight by the working class’ in the period of ‘Fatherland Liberation War’until it came to Josun Literature History(11)(1994) in the 1990s. Here,it was the controversial work which enabled me to confirm the important issues in North Josun literature and art circles by checking its step-by-step evaluations.
