- Abstract
- 55세에서 74세 사이의 현재 흡연 중이거나 금연한지 15년 이내의 고도 흡연자 53000명을 대상으로 미국에서 시행된 대규모의 무작위배정 임상시험(National Lung Screening Trial; 이하 NLST) 결과 저선량 CT를 이용한 폐암검진이 흉부 X-선 사진을 이용한 폐암검진과 비교하여 폐암사망률을 20% 이상 감소시킴이 밝혀졌다. 대한흉부영상의학회에서는 국민건강 증진에 기여하고, 잘못된 시행 및 남용으로 인한 국민건강상 피해를 방지하고자 저선량 CT를 이용한 폐암검진 가이드라인을 마련하고자 하였다. 이 가이드라인은 대한흉부영상의학회 2012년도 정책과제로서, 6명의 영상의학과 전문의가 NLST 보고서 및 관련 자료들을 검토함으로써 객관적인 의학적 근거에 기반하여 수립되었다.
