- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to research the adoption experience and post-service needs of adolescents in overseas adoptees. This study is a qualitative survey of nine overseas adoptees. The beneficiaries have confirmed the adoption experience and post-adoption service needs of teenagers.
The results of this study will be the basic data for developing services to help psychosocial adaptation of teenager adoptees in the current growth process. The study identified two upper categories, five subcategories, and 20 central themes. In other words, the two upper categories are psychosocial adaptation and post-adoption service experiences and needs, and the five lower categories are daily life, race-related issues, adoption issues, post-adoption service use, and post-adoption service needs. Among them, the daily life category is classified into four small categories: life satisfaction, parent and family relationship, school life and career, and friendship. Three central themes within two subcategories were derived.
