Abstract
For this study, a total of 48 university students, 25 male and 23 female students participated in a corrective exercise program. After 12 weeks of corrective exercise, the study sought to find out changes in the body composition and physical fitness before and after, and the following conclusions were obtained. A corrective exercise program is an exercise that corrects the body alignment and balances the left and right sides through constraining, enhancing, strengthening, and integrating movements. For these reasons, the study found a decrease in weight, body fat percent and BMI, and an increase in muscle strength, muscle endurance and agility. This results show that corrective exercise programs are effective in balancing the body, but are somewhat lacking in improving physical fitness. This suggests that body alignment requires corrective exercise but complex training is needed to improve body strength. Corrective exercise programs are thought to activate the mobility of each joint to smoothen the body segment system, and to allow integrated corrective exercises of body segments such as waist, pelvis, and hip, which connect the upper and lower limbs, to maximize the stabilization of the core to help improve the performance of the body. In addition, it is also believed that the smooth activation of muscles, joints and nerves can have a positive effect on body composition and physical fitness improvement, and that it can help prevent exercise injury due to misalignment of the body and apply efficient and effective exercise programs.
