Contingency theory and the institutionalism in terms of management organization

Abstract

The field of management, macro organization theory research is extremely diverse and extensive. In this study, we chose situation theory and institutional theory from and examined the research and features which follow the stages of their historical development. The rationale for the theoretical distinction of contingency theory is based on the fitted and uncertain aspects of the environment. In the case of institutionalism, the criteria were divided in terms of their justification and morphology. In this study, the contents were reviewed with a focus on various research results; not only the significance, but also the direction of future research were presented with limitations. The theoretical contribution of this study is as follows. In the field of demonstration using two theories, it is found that various attempts are necessary. We also reviewed the developmental stages of the theories and found that it is necessary to verify and improve the limitations and problems of the theories. © Rushing Water Publishers Ltd. 2019.
