- 1960년대 SF영화의 음향과 조명을 연상시키는 로버트 스밋슨의 영화 《나선형 방파제》(1970)에서 펼쳐지는 초현실주의적 엔트로피 풍경, 그 앞에서 무력하기만 한 안티-히어로 그리고 거석은 SF 뉴웨이브 소설가인 J.G. 밸러드가 그려내는‘ 내적 공간’의 요소를 닮아 있다. 이를 짚어봄으로써 본 논문은《나선형방파제》와 SF 뉴웨이브의 상호관계를 밝힌다.
