- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of eight-week circuit training on physical strength and knee joint isokinetic muscular function in the taekwondo demonstration team. 16 taekwondo demonstration team member were volunteered to participate in this study as subjects, and they were randomly assigned to either Taekwondo Demonstration Training Group(n=8) or Taekwondo Demonstration Training & Circuit Trainng Group(n=8). To evaluate the physical strength and knee joint isokinetic muscular function of all the subjects participating in it. The subjects in Circuit Trainng program for 40-50min/session, 3 times per week for eight-week. Data collected went through statistical verification by using Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon test, and all the statistically significant levels are set as p<.05. The results of this study are written below: 1. Physical fitness in indicated significant difference by measuring time. 2. Although their right knee joints’ 60°/sec extensor strength and flexor strength did not show significant difference, the measured values increased positively, and their left knee joints’ 60°/sec extensor strength did not indicate significant difference, the measured values increased positively.
Their flexor strength indicated significant difference by measuring time. 3. Their right and left knee joints’ 180°/sec extensor strength and flexor strength improved, and there was significant difference found by measuring time. Therefore, the eight-week circuit training has a positive effect on the physical fitness and isokinetic muscular function of the Taekwondo demonstrator, so the circuit training recommended as a training for improving the demonstration ability.
