- Abstract
- This study investigated a protective coating with titanium nitride (TiN) on stainless steel using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) for the potential application as bipolar plates of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). TiN is uniformly coated onto 316 stainless steel by EPD process, which can be cost-effective solution process. The role of charging agents such as PDADMAC and PEI on the EPD of TiN was examined by varying the concentration. Under the optimal condition to give uniform TiN layer, improved corrosion resistance was obtained. © The Electrochemical Society.
