Abstract
Telemedicine that reduces the time and spatial restrictions on healthcare is expected to be broadly activated due to the recent development of ICT convergence technologies. The VoIP technology is being used for data transfer in the telemedicine environment. In the IP network that uses the packet exchange method, however, problems of delay, jitter, and packet loss, among others, are occurring. Therefore, the condition of the VoIP network was predicted in this study using a network condition prediction algorithm. A VoIP-based dynamic jitter buffer control algorithm that addresses transfer quality problems through dynamic jitter buffer control was proposed. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2017.
