Abstract
Analyzing the developmental types of movements that make up the Taeguk forms 1 to 8 for the colored belt, 5-Step Homoateral Movements using the upper body and the side of the lower body was often used as the developmental type. Taeguk 1 & 2 jang use the connectivity of the upper body to allow the users to understand the shift of their center of mass, while Taeguk 3 jang consists of agilely connecting the movement of the upper body to a homologous movement. Taeguk 4 & 7 jang use homoateral and homologous movements simultaneously. Through homologous movements, the upper body movement is not restricted to one side, but is composed of a combination of symmetrical and asymmetrical structures around the spine. Taeguk 4 jang utilizes the connectivity of the upper body, but 7 jang is composed of a variety of simultaneous and complex arm movements using homologous movements and the homoateral movements and contralateral movement. In Taeguk 5 jang, the upper developmental type shows the connection of the head and tailbone as well as the how the spine is connected to the rotation of joints. In Taeguk 6jang, the connectivity of both sides of the body is most prominent, differing from the other forms through the flow of space of the user’s side, and shows connectivity from the middle to the end. Finally, Form 8 shows the various stages of development in a sequential and complex manner.
