The gut microbiome of human improves the host immune system and metabolic and cellular processes. Majority of probiotics naturally reside in the human gut; consequently, their use has been considered as safe. Until now, probiotics have shown many beneficial effects on prevention or treatment of various disease conditions. The present chapter will be focusing on in vivo and in vitro studies of different strains of probiotic bacteria in the prevention and treatment of various cancers. © 2019 Elsevier Inc.
