- Abstract
- Collecting and reporting sports data have been a long history since ancient olympic games.
Individuals involved in the field of sports and physical education have collected athletes or teams’ performance data to communicate with others or to improve athletes’ performance. For example, a journalist collect sport data to communicate with public. Scouter and coach collect game or athletes’ performance data for scouting or better performance. Beyond individuals involved in the sports field, people actively participating in a recreational sports collect their performance data to track, maintain, and improve their performance. Like this, sports data has been used for various purpose. Thesedays, a variety of technologies have introduced that can visualize sport data. Visualized sport data offers new ways of exploring, making sense of, and communicating sports data to individuals who do not have background knowledge about statistic. Thus, the purpose of this study was to explore type of sport data visualization and its possibility to implement in teaching physical education.
