- Abstract
- 방화범죄의 대표적 행위는 인화성 물질 살포이다. 현재 한국의 화재조사는 조사관의 후각이나 재래식 가스 검지기를이용하여 인화성 물질을 찾아내고 있다. 이러한 방법은 광범위한 장소와 건물이 해체된 현장에서 적용하기 곤란하고비효율적이다. 방화 탐지견의 후각을 이용한 실험을 통해 탄화수소 계열 연소 잔해와 소량의 인화성 물질의 분별 능력,넓은 개활지 탐지 그리고 실제 화재 현장에 인화성 물질을 찾아내는데 약 5 s에서 77 s가 소요되는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 인화물질의 촉진제를 살포한 화재 현장에서 방화의 입증을 위한 방화 탐지견의 도입이 실용적임을 입증하였다.
