Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status and problems of elite sports for the disabled in Korea to improve the performance of elite sports for the disabled, and to make policy recommendations by analyzing cases of elite sports for the disabled overseas. The research procedure collects domestic elite sports support-related data for the disabled in order to derive policy suggestions for improving the performance of elite sports for the disabled, and conducts a focus group interview (FGI) with 6 experts related to disabled sports. was analyzed. Next, data related to the support policies of elite sports powerhouses with disabilities were collected and analyzed. Through this process, draft policy recommendations for improving the performance of elite sports for the disabled overseas were prepared. In the draft, policy recommendations for improving elite sports performance for the disabled were finally drawn through two meetings with four administrative experts for disabled sports. First, the revision and enactment of the National Sports Promotion Act on the production and management of sports science data for the disabled. Second, the establishment of a sports science research institute dedicated to sports for the disabled. Third, discovering and expanding sports science support events. Fourth, cooperation with advanced countries and institutions for sports for the disabled. Fifth, it was found that a system was prepared to actively collect the needs of athletes and leaders.
