Abstract
Chromosomal abnormalities at 14q11, which encodes the T-cell receptor alpha and delta chain genes, are generally specific for T-cell malignancies, and are rarely reported in other malignancies. We report a novel t(11;14)(p13;q11.2) in a patient with myelofibrosis (MF) following polycythemia vera (PV). This 55-year-old male developed post-PV MF 12 years after the initial diagnosis of PV. He had a normal karyotype at polycythemic disease stage, t(11;14)(p13;q11.2) was newly detected at the time of fibrotic transformation. Therefore, it is likely that this clonal chromosomal abnormality was associated with progression of disease.
