Abstract
Approximately 25% of the power generation facilities in the metropolitan area are based on combined heat and power (CHP) generation, constituting a significant portion of the overall power supply. If, in this scenario, the metropolitan CHP facilities are not operational, power generation units from non-metropolitan regions with lower generation costs will take precedence. This situation would impose an additional burden on the northern power flow. Furthermore, due to the current annual limit on northern power flow, coal-fired power generation is periodically halted. Through photovoltaic (PV) analysis, variations in the flexibility margin of the CHP system under thermal constraints were observed. Assuming fluctuations in metropolitan CHP output due to the cessation of coal-fired power generation, the reduction in flexibility margin (MW) was calculated to assess economic effects. Additionally, in order to ascertain the extent of impact on system inertia, simulated scenarios of equipment failures were conducted, calculating inertia to verify its influence on the grid.
